About Tom

Tom has been engaged in various forms of non-traditional and energetic healing for over 25 years and his holistic approach to life stems from his belief in the interconnectedness of all things. The indigenous healing practices of Peru’s medicine women and men form the lineage of his shamanic healing education. After a life as an artist and corporate/college/university educator, he re-awakened to the understanding that he had been called to do this work again.

Tom is a graduate of the Gateway School of Shamanism under Deborah Wray, former senior faculty for Dr. Alberto Villoldo’s Healing The Light Body School. Additionally, he has completed advanced graduate programs in dream manifestation. In early 2013, he received the Munay-ki nine Empowerment rites based on the initiatory practices of the Q’ero shamans of Peru, and he studied in Peru with Don Theo Parades, Ph.D., a renowned anthropologist and Shaman. Tom has participated in shamanic ceremonies in numerous sites in Peru including the Temple of Wiracocha, Pisac, Lake Titicaca, Colca Canyon, and Machu Picchu. He has participated in shamanic energy healing training with Sandra Ingerman and Alberto Villoldo, and was engaged in Hank Wesselman’s last teachings as part of the Shamanic Visionary Circle year long program.

Tom served as Visiting Shaman for Reiki Journey - Alternative and Holistic Health in Blacksburg, Virginia and assisted teaching second year students in the Gateway School of Shamanism in Charlottesville, Virginia. He will be teaching “Shamanic Healing Wisdom and Practices” as part of the Certified Practitioner for Holistic Health program of Nibana School Of Wisdom in Annapolis, Maryland in 2022.

Tom offers shamanic energy healing sessions in person and around the world virtually, as well as land and home healing, and education in shamanic practices.

What is Shamanic Energy Medicine?

Shamanic energy medicine is part of humankind’s oldest spiritual and healing practice. It focuses on ancient wisdom of the energetic inter-connectedness of all things, both the seen and un-seen in nature and beyond. A Shamanic practitioner is “someone who acts as a bridge between the shamanic indigenous world and the modern world and honors the medicine and wisdom of these shamanic people to bring healing and balance.”

Shamans relate to the whole person from an energetic level. Physical, emotional and spiritual issues have an energetic origin, which leaves an imprint on the Energy Field of the individual. These events can be recent, beyond recall, ancestral or even karmic. Shamans track the origins of a symptom to its source through a variety of methods and remove the imprint and its influence on an individual’s health and well being. The individual can then find freedom from old limited thoughts and behavior patterns, connect to their limitless possibilities and begin to write new life stories for themselves. Each session is different and may focus on chakra and energy field cleansing and illumination, power loss, soul loss, cord cutting, intrusions, ancestral healing, energetic tears, and imprints in one’s luminous energy field and more.

Preeti Prakash Kaur

Kundalini Yoga Teacher & Kirtan Devotee

About Preeti

Preeti is a devout Kundalini Yogi and certified Kundalini Yoga Teacher. Her unique spiritual awakening occurred when she was 18-years-old, opening her eyes to the vast and expansive consciousness that permeates the cosmos. Since then, Preeti has experienced profound healing and life-affirming shifts that have paved her disciplined and crystal-clear life path. Preeti found her true spiritual home, and what she considers to be her “dharma,” in the Kundalini Yoga tradition. Specializing in the use of sacred sound, Preeti often includes music and chanting as part of her offerings. It is through the precise use of Kundalini Yoga, sacred sound, and kirtan that Preeti bridges people of all ages to their higher states of consciousness. Preeti feels that the technology of Kundalini Yoga inspires a “clear mind and pure heart,” which drives her to share this treasure with the world.

What is Kundalini Yoga?

Kundalini Yoga is called the yoga of Awareness. It directly stimulates and raises the Kundalini energy, which lies dormant at the base of the spine - until awakened. The imagery used for this energy is a snake, coiled up. The energy becomes activated, and begins to rise up the spine, weaving itself through our energy system, known as the chakras, to the top of the head at the crown, and then naturally back down again. f you have ever seen a snake charmer that plays the flute instrument to raise the snake out of the basket, then you can imagine that this is how the Kundalini energy rises throughout our chakra system.

This weaving action of the Kundalini energy has a profound awakening effect on our mind, body, and soul. We, as practitioners, experience a shedding of old layers that no longer serve us. Much like a snake, we shed our old skin and are reborn into the version of us that is lighter, happier, mentally clear, and radiantly healthy. In Kundalini Yoga, we practice what are called ‘kriyas,’ which are series of exercises that are strung together like beads on a string. Each kriya has its own very special essence and direct effect on our being, such as creating emotional balance and opening the heart.

We use our physical body to activate the Kundalini energy, and we leave a class feeling uplifted, clear, and completely renewed. Kundalini Yoga is welcome to all people, from all walks of life, and requires no experience.
